Battlefield 2042 Beta

It felt like this moment would never come. There has been so much teasing and whispering, but it’s finally happening. It’s been years since the last installment but we finally get to experience a new Battlefield game in just a few days. The Battlefield 2042 Beta will give players a chance to finally jump back into the Battlefieldverse in one of the most anticipated games of this year.

After the epic reveal, gameplay trailers, info leaks and one delay announcement, DICE will finally allow us a taste of true fps glory. At least, if it lives up to the hype. With all the big fps titles being released at the end of this year – Halo Infinite, Far Cry 6, Call of Duty Vanguard – the pressure is on for this Battlefield to capture and hold player interest. The recent delay announcement that the game will now release November 19 may be an indicator that the studio is feeling the heat.

Comparing the reveal footage of the game to the Beta announcement, the game does look to have been polished up quite a bit. If that can be considered an indicator of the work being put into this game then it may be worth the couple extra weeks of waiting. Most of the changes were visual and just added a more finished look to the game’s environment.

The Battlefield 2042 Beta will include one map and one game mode for players to experience. The map, Orbital, is set in a mountainous region where a rocket is set to launch in the middle of an intense fire fight. Players will have to watch out for rocket’s blast, looming storms and enemy fire.

There will also be an arsenal of weapons available for use with any of the four operators players can pick from. Webster McKay (grappling hook), Maria Falck (healing pistol / syringe), Pyotr “Boris” Guskovsky (sentry gun) and Wikus “Casper” Van Daele (recon drone) will be the operators available during the Battlefield 2042 Beta.

The Beta will include all the bells and whistles we are expecting from title when it releases. The new plus system will allow players to modify their weapons while in combat to adjust to the situation. That means being able to remove and add attachments to better suit the situation you find yourself in. There will also be a call in system to request vehicles and supplies at a moments notice. No more having to spam click on a tank at the beginning of games.

The Battlefield 2042 Beta will be available October 6-7 for those who pre-order the game. The rest of us will have to wait until October 8-9 to get a piece of the action!
