New Elder Scrolls Will Be Xbox and PC Exclusive

You read that right. Apparently Microsoft is tired of Sony and their “exclusivity”.  The days of PlayStation exclusives swinging console gamers over to the PS ranks are over. To the terror of those lucky enough to purchase a PS5, Zenimax Media (owned now by Microsoft) will be releasing Elder Scrolls 6 on Xbox and PC only.

It’s been a question on the mind of those who were aware of the acquisition of Zenimax by Microsoft, and we finally got an answer. Phil Spencer spilled the beans during an interview with GQ like a tyrant king laying claim to neutral land.  In reality Spencer put it more delicately saying, “in order to be on Xbox, I want us to be able to bring the full complete package of what we have. And that would be true when I think about Elder Scrolls VI.”

The Bethesda title won’t be the only major game to be released exclusively by Microsoft. Starfield is expected to be one of the biggest (in many senses of the word) title to release in 2022. The game will be available only on Xbox Series X and PC, leaving PlayStation’s consoles on the sidelines.

Xbox exclusivity isn’t something new with series like Halo releasing only on the Microsoft consoles. Halo Infinite is set to release next month and will also only be available on Xbox Series X and PC. PlayStation also has there own set of exclusive games which are set to release next year as well.

Whether this will deepen the tensions between Xbox and PlayStation is yet to be seen. We’ll keep you updated on all console news here on Bot Gamer News.
